About
Built for Developers, by Developers
TripOverflow is a travel cost verification site for coders, engineers, and developers who plan trips the way they write code: with precise, inspectable data. Every figure on the site carries a date and a source, so you can check it yourself and judge whether it still applies to your trip.
How We Verify Prices
Cost figures come from published sources, mainly the crowdsourced cost-of-living aggregator Numbeo, checked against official sources such as tourism boards and government fee schedules where they exist. Aggregator figures are self-submitted by users, so we label them as indicative rather than exact. Each figure shows its source and the date we last verified it. When we have to infer a number because no source covers it, it is marked as inferred.
What Makes Us Different
- Dated prices: Every cost shows when it was last verified
- Sourced data: Every number names its original source
- Labelled estimates: Indicative and inferred figures are marked as such, never presented as exact
- No affiliate links: Nothing on the site is influenced by partnerships
- No popups: Ever. We respect your flow state.
- No cookies: Analytics run through GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and collects no personal data.
